Dashboard – Forecastr

The Dashboard is where you generate your financial model’s visuals, including graphs, tables, and number call outs that show off your business!

Sheets

Sheets are groups of visuals (called widgets) in your dashboard. To add additional sheets to your dashboard simply hit the plus button next to your sheets on the top left of your screen.

To change the name of a sheet double click on its current name and type your desired name. You can also click and drag on a sheet to move its ordering.

If you’d like to delete a sheet simply right click on it and hit “Delete”.

Folders

Folders are groupings of sheets in your dashboard. This allows you to organize your visualizations of model data however you like, such as by department or by revenue source.

Widgets

Creating a Widget

Widgets are the visuals that make up your dashboard. To add a widget hit the “+ Add Widget” button on the top right of your screen.

You can choose from many different options to create your widget exactly the way you want it.

Widget Types

There are currently six different types of widgets:

Bar Charts display your data across a timeline with filled in bars. The bars can be horizontal or vertical and staked or unstacked.

Combined/Dual Y-Axis Charts display a combination of two line or bar charts with an axis dedicated to each graph.

Financial Tables display either one of the model’s financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) or a custom selection as a scrollable table.

Goal Charts displays the integrations actuals progress against a forecasted goal.

Line Charts display your data across a timeline with solid lines.

Number Callouts display a single metric’s value for an individual month/year/quarter in the model. You can also select an additional metric to compare to the first metric’s value.

Performance Charts show forecast vs actuals for one or more metrics in a “progress bar” form.

Pie Charts display data across a period of time as slices of a circle.

Stacked Area Charts display data across a timeline as a single line with filled in shading underneath for each item that is being graphed.

Textboxes display an open textbox for users to type whatever they would like, This is typically used for titling or describing a particular section of the Dashboard.

Trend Analysis widgets track cumulative progress of actuals for a selected metric against its forecasted goal.

Widgets (depending on the selected type) can display numbers from three different sources:

Select Item displays any individual metric/row in the model.

Select Tags displays the sum of all rows tagged with the selected tag.

Select Actuals displays the actuals tied to a metric/row in the model.

Adjusting a Widget

To open the options for a widget select the three dots in the top right corner of the widget.

To adjust the sizing of a widget click on the bottom left or bottom right corner and drag your mouse. To rearrange the position of the widget click on any other area of the widget and drag it to its desired position.

Changing The Time Range of Widgets

By default, most widgets (not including Number Callouts, Date Compare Tables, and Textboxes) use a shared time range that is selected via the “View Settings” button on the sidebar.

To select a date range for an individual widget, select the calendar icon on the widget and choose a different date range. This individual date range can also be reset to default back to the view settings for the entire dashboard.
